cc_com_events-0161Are you a fashionist? Are you curious about how the fashion industry work? Do you want to change your career to the fashion world?

Degree and qualification is not always necessary, as long as you have passion about the fashoin industry. And you are prepared to work like a workaholic like we all do;)

What do I need to work for fashion internship program?
Enthusiastic is the first thing, fashion industry looks glamour from outside and it could be pretty harsh inside. So you need to be prepare for big challenges. And language is also very important, both English and the language of your destination.
Some experience in related job such as marketing, advertising, art, graphic design, sales will also help you to get the role.

Where I can find the information of fashion intersnhip?
There will always be recruitment information in fashion schools, it could be just a summer internship opportunity. If you use the key word"fashion internship", you will find the offer in some website of fashion house, cosmetics company, production company, and independent websites from France, United Kingdoms, United States, Japan and some other countries. But be careful about some Internet scams, avoid those emails from free email provider.

Do I need to pay for it? will I get paid?
Well it depends on the offer but normally you don't need to pay to get yourself enroll. Salary and benefits are vary by the policy of employer. Normally it is part-time, 3 months, 6 months contract only but will definatelly make your resume reads better.

What do I benefits from working in a fahsion internship?
Real experience in the industry is what school won't teach you and the most important is the relationship between you and your colleages.Plus you will work out whther the kind of job really interests you or you think it's better to just enjoy fashion by shopping and reading magazines.

How to pose for fashion shoot? (Standing)

Model is a learn-from-working job. Art director and photographer will normally direct you how to pose during the shoot. However you can also learn from reading fashion magazines. I pick up few photos with classic pose to explain you how to pose for fashion shoot.

Firstly, relax your facial espression and body but leave your eyes deliver the message(strong,sexy,confused,dull,naive,aggressive...)

And you need to always exaggerate your pose. Make sure you show those angle, curve, length.

But always make sure you look "not struggling"for the pose. Beautiful long neck is essential to make you look as elegant as a swan, don't pose like a turtle.

The last but not the least: Be Confident!

Meeting new model

Yesterday I met a girl. She is a student in her last year of university, has been trying to get into the modelling industry for 1 year. She did very few projects because she is still not with any agency, she told me once an agency offer her to shoot a book with their photographer. She went to the studio, they shoot her 10 photos and stop there then the agent ask her to exchange the rest of photos with sex. So she quit the shooting and avoid that agency, just unfortunately and fortunately only waste her time and got no photos. It's true, modelling is a very difficult job because the industry is full of lies, scams, sex, drugs.......But it's you to make decision. Being firm and aware of the environment is very important. I turned off many agencies because those agencies are not with modelling association or doing some underground business.

CC Recipe~ Braised Pork Ballsin Soy Sauce (Chinese Cuisine)

I am a model and I eat well, because I believe dining is a big part of life.
Also I encourage my friends to find out what kind of food suit them the best.
Take myself for example, I can eat normal portion of nature and healthy food without any risk of gaining weight; however once I eat any artificial food and junk food the consequence will immediately reflect in my body.

I love cooking, it is my little adventure at home. I make variety of dishes from traditional Chinese cuisine, Italian style to classic French gourmet. Today I want to share my recipe of "Braised Pork Ballsin Soy Sauce" with you.

The suggested material:
Pork mice(with minimal 15% fat) 400g
Bamboo 10g
Spring onion 3g
Chinese leaf 1
Carrot 1
bread 1 piece
bean thread(glass noodle) 50g
Soy source
Black pepper
Sesame oil

Step 1:

Favor your pork mice with a spoon of soy source, few drops of sesame oil, a little black pepper.
Then mix the pork mice with finely cut bamboo, spring onion and broken bread. (Bread is here to absorb the source into the pork in the later stage) Mix it very well until the mice become a bit sticky and you can make it to meat balls.

Step 2:

Deep fried those meat balls until they looks golden outside.

Step 3:

Carefully put those fried meat balls into boiling water, don't move it around or you might have broken ballsins :P add 2 spoons of soy source in to the water.

Step 4:

Quickly cook bean thread in hot water.
Cut the Chinese leaf, carrot and bean thread into the pot (on the top of ballsins). Put the lid on and continually cook for another 40 mins with medium fire.

Step 5:

Enjoy your Braised Pork Ballsin Soy Sauce with rice(my favorite)

I hope you understand my description, this is the first time I tried to write my recipe down plus the way I cook is very casual@@ And please fell free to ask me if you don't understand.

And...........

Models .......please eat well.....like me!!

Love~ CC

Backstage diary- Awareness in Manhattan shoot in November 2008

I was modelling for the project " Awareness in Manhattan" last year. This project is to araise people's awareness of breast cancer. Which I think I already achieve on those two days shooting topless in Manhattan in LATEX dress, many people came to ask my crew what's it for? And they gave us very much appreciation in return. (That's why I love New York! Also it was during the presidential election period, the whole city is alive and people were very exciting.) The temperature has already drop during these two days shoot, we were lucky to catch come sunshine to do the outdoor shoot. Thanks to my professional crew menbers, the result is very goood. This project will be featured in the Playboy magazine March 2009(US. edition), then later this year you can see those photos in many exhibitions for charity cause.

You must be curious about the backstage too! Yes! Backstage is the most interesting part of modelling for me, I love to meet people in the same industry. This time I was very lucky to work with the best team. Includes project manager Yael Sapir, she is the leader of our team. She looks serious in these two photos because she is controlling the environment. As you can imagine a outdoor edgy shoot would attract so many people, it can casue traffic jam! But underneath her professional attitude she is very very funny, she is full of energy, always make us relax. I can't wait to work with her again and again!

MUA is model's best friend! My make up is done by Lancome senior make up artist Andrew Sotomayor. He is not only professional, has magic hands. This is a special project, not typical fashion or beauty shoot. He really made the makeup match my dress well. We spent so much good time doing the makeup, he is my MUA, my bodygard(cause he's tall) and almost my babysitter :p I remenber one after he rush out when we had a break for hot drink, came back with two self-heating bags for me.....I am really touched! Thank you again Andrew! Evryone is very concerned about the low temperature. They are really nice people!

We were so happy to finish the shoot!

There are two people not in the backstage photos because they are behind the viewfinder. Photographic artist Thomas Hodges and his assistant. Thomas is an art photographerhttp://www.photoconception.com/, who won many major photographic awards such as: International photography award,International color award and Black and white spider awards. He is a real gentleman. Always very polite, efficient in work and full of charm. Amazingly he control the outdoor light without any reflector and artificial light source. All of us were very surprised of the way he took photos. I guess that's how master would be.

Shooting date: 7th November and 9th November 2008
Shooting location: Times square, Wall street and Grand central
Producer: Yael Sapir/Yes Production http://www.yesproductionsnyc.com/
Make up Artist: Andrew Sutomayor http://dramafreemakeup.carbonmade.com/
